Superhero 1st Birthday

My sweet Sawyer Keath turned one!  An entire year has gone by way too quickly.  With so many ideas out there, I couldn't decide on a theme...so I left it up to my husband and 9 year old son.  SURPRISE!!!  They picked (cue the drumroll please)...  SUPERHERO

Planning was a lot of fun! It was so easy to pick the color scheme: red, yellow, blue and black & white polka dot.

Halloween Party

Here are a few pictures from our neighborhood pre-trick or treating Halloween Party.   This was a super simple, no real preparation party, but the kids really loved it!

Nautical Table

Our church has an annual Ladies Tea, "Across the Table" every September.  Here is a glimpse of the Nautical Themed table I did with my sister-in-law, Nina.  Stuff like this is so much fun and so easy, because we just did one table!

CREATION QUEST VBS- THE AMAZING BODY MUSEUM

This being my first summer as a SAHM, I was so excited to volunteer at my church's Vacation Bible School.  I was even more excited to learn the theme, "Creation Quest".  Kids would spend an exciting week of Bible stories, arts and crafts, music, games, and interactive discovery museums.  There would be a Noah's Ark Museum, a Planetarium, A Body Museum and....DINOSAURS!!!!   I immediately signed up to volunteer and was thrilled (and flattered) when I was asked to design a museum.  After briefly brainstorm, I knew I wanted to do The Amazing Body Museum.   I was so blessed with an amazing crew to help my visions become a reality.  God put the most perfect people into place!!!

Children walked in and had the chance to use their five senses in different interactive stations

The talented men in our maintenance department made four life size Operation Games. The talented Ms. Alexis painted them for me.

Can I brag on Alexis one more time?  Denny had this vision and Alexis ran with it and made it so much more amazing than I could have ever imagined.  This is our pastor, Dr. Brunson.  You can lift his jacket and see the many layers of his insides!

Super Sawyer's Nursery!

I wanted a vintage superhero feel for Sawyer's Nursery.   Something he wouldn't grow out of too soon.  What little boy doesn't love superheroes?  I don't always consider myself extremely artistic, but I like to paint for fun, it's like therapy!  Here are a few shots of his nursery (with my iPhone no less, sorry for the poor quality!)  I keep telling myself to get somemore, but I haven't done that yet!

Star Wars Birthday Party

For my son's 9th birthday party he wanted a Star Wars themed sleepover. I have a week old baby and am still adjusting to his sleeping/eating schedule, so I felt like this party was a little thrown together. Still I was happy with the results, and most importantly my son was EXTREMELY satisfied. My husband even got into the planning with me once I told him some of my ideas...he is still a kid at heart!

All of the children received a lightsaver made out of a pool noodle.  Logan loved this favor because he helped make them.
