Island Bridal Shower

My sister Kim is getting married.  She was my best friend growing up and I just love her to bits!  After several years apart, she reconnected with a good friend of ours from high school.  It's so amazing to see how God works and how His timing is perfect.

For her shower my mom and sisters decided to go with a honeymoon destination (Caribbean) theme.  Here are some of the details from the shower.

my mom loves scrapbooking, so of course there was a scrapbook for the shower, it included a copy of the invitation, which I always think is such a good idea to give the guest of honor a copy of the invitation

homemade cake made by a talented friend of the family

a childhood favorite, dirt cake!  instead of regular oreos, we used the white oreos, they turned out adorable!

Super Mario Party

My son wanted a Super Mario Party for his 7th birthday.
This party was so much fun to throw!!!

I used poster board to draw out the characters, then cut them out and painted them.

prizes!!!

I couldn't find a star pinata anywhere, so I bought a multicolor pinata and painted it.  There was a special egg in the pinata, whoever found it got a special prize.

I had some medical issues the week of the party, so I was so thankful for my sister in law who made the cake for me!  She was a life saver!!!

popcorn cupcakes

My fabulous best friend Roselyn made these adorable cupcakes for her son's birthday.  It's was a movie theme complete with "cam dollars" to purchase snacks at the concession stand.  The kids had a blast!!!

Diamonds are a girls best friend

The women's ministry at our church hosted a ladies brunch.  Everyone has the option of hosting a table and each host can pick their own theme for their table.   It's always fun to see what creative ideas all of the girls come up with.  We decided on a Tiffany's Diamond theme.

An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.
Proverbs 31:10

A picture doesn't do this table justice!  There were diamonds hanging from the ceiling over the table, it was beautiful!

Gorgeous white flowers and blue glass beads in little fish bowls formed the shape of a cross for the centerpiece.  There were diamonds of all shapes scattered around the table.

Our dessert table ~ I am not a girl who turns down sweets and these were delicious!
